How to Protect Your Wooden Doors from Cracks & Shifting
Arizona experienced record-breaking temperatures this 2020 season. July earned the title for the hottest month ever recorded in Phoenix, until August surpassed July. This resulted in the hottest summer ever recorded for the Phoenix and East Valley areas.
Due to the effects of global warming and the rise of temperatures across the United States, this is the first year that we have seen our customers’ doors go through such dramatic changes. With the extreme Arizona temperatures and lack of rain, your exterior wooden doors may need extra protection.
Take a good look at your wooden door:
- Do you see any hairline cracks in the wood?
- Have you noticed a “shift” in the wood of your door? This will show up around the edges of the door panels. The stain will look lighter than the rest of the panel or you might see light coming through.
